Eighty-five teachers attended the first day of the Virtual Teacher Cohort Training series on July 24 at Holman Middle School. The teaching and learning department developed this five-day program for teachers who have a strong interest in learning more about virtual instruction.
The elementary, middle and high school teachers were split into groups based on school level and covered the topic of distance learning. Time was built into the day for planning and collaboration. They will next meet on Aug. 3 and learn methods of assessing students in a virtual learning environment.
All certified staff will receive training on virtual teaching and learning before the 2020-2021 school year.
