A message for Pirate fans who were planning on attending this weekend's state Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) track and field championships to watch the Pattonville girls and boys teams compete:

Below is a statement from the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) regarding this weekend's High School State Track and Field Championships.  The competition was scheduled to take place in Jefferson City.   As many of you have heard, Jefferson City suffered significant tornado damage last night.  Please keep your thoughts with the people of Jefferson City during this time.  We will keep you posted as we receive more information regarding the Missouri State High School Track and Field Championships.
Sincerely,

This message is being sent to all member schools, in regards to this weekend’s Track and Field Championships for Classes 3-5 in Jefferson City.  In an effort to assist local efforts, the championships are currently suspended.  While more information will be made available later today, we want to stress the fact that schools do not and should not make their way to Jefferson City.

To repeat, this weekend’s track and field championships are currently suspended.  We ask that participating teams remain at their school or community until more information is made available later today.
