PHS football player a finalist for regional Athlete of the Year |

Pattonville High School senior Bobby Bailey was chosen as February's finalist for the Penn Station Athlete of the Year (PSAY). Every month, Penn Station, KPLR 11, Z 107.7, 100.3 The Beat, 93.7 The Bull and Wild 104.9 select an outstanding senior student athlete from a Greater St. Louis high school who has demonstrated excellence in athletics, academics and good citizenship. Monthly winners are enrolled in a chance to win a $5,000 college scholarship in May.
Bailey will have his name, picture and biographical information featured in each of the area Penn Station restaurants. In addition, he will receive a plaque for himself and a plaque for his school, 500 buy-one get-one sub sandwich certificates, a catered party for 10 at a local Penn Station restaurant and a T-shirt. He will also be featured on the sponsoring radio stations and presented with his award at a school-sponsored event by Darren Pang of FOX Sports Midwest. Pang is a renowned hockey announcer and the St. Louis Blues telecast analyst on FOX Sports Midwest. Bailey will also be awarded two tickets to a Blues game.
This fall, Bailey played defensive end on the Pirate varsity football team and was named All-Conference Second Team, Academic All State and Suburban XII All Academic. The team placed second in the Class 5 state championship in November and was named a state finalist, district champions and Suburban XII South Division Conference Champions.
