Remington Traditional School
Remington students who participated in the Vandercook Honor Band Festival in Chicago are: Fatima Alidani, John Armstead, Ellie Atkinson, Brett Cain, Thomas Clifford, Nolan Davidson, Jordan Davis, Van Grabner, Haley Harrison, Holly Jones, Alyssa Koller, Hayden Langston, Chloe Mahrt, Alex Morschl, Stephanie Mueller, Alec Sportsman and Rosie Vishy. In addition, Jones earned a 1 Superior rating for flute solo and a 2 Excellent rating for woodwind duet and quartet at the St. Louis Suburban Music Educators Association Solo and Ensemble Festival. Also earning a 2 Excellent rating were Alidani for snare solo and percussion ensemble; Davidson for trumpet solo and brass quartet; Ethan Gray for bass clarinet solo and trio; Harrison for clarinet trio; Koller for clarinet solo and woodwind duet and quartet; Langston for baritone solo and brass quartet; Morschl for tuba solo; Hanna Rice for clarinet solo and trio; Vishy for trombone solo and quartet; Macy Avery and Meaghan Wetzel for trumpet duet; Seth McVicar and Andrew Morschl for brass quartet; Kadie Murphy and Hailey Rice for woodwind quartet; Leilah Manzanares, Mueller and Joe Pizzo for percussion ensemble; and Davis, Grabner and Angel Payne for trombone quartet. Andrew Smith directs the students.
Tia Goodman and Griffin Wick were selected to the All-Suburban Orchestra. Goodman and Anna Kasprzyk earned a 1 Superior rating at the Solo and Ensemble Festival for cello solo and for bass solo, respectively. Earning a 2 Excellent rating were Wick for bass solo and Jenny Wingerter for cello solo. Kim Gindler directs the students.
Pattonville Heights Middle School
Lars Gindler was named second chair cellist and Rachel McCormick was named to the cello section of the All-Suburban Orchestra, in addition to earning a 1 Superior rating for cello solo at the Solo and Ensemble Festival. Also earning a 1 Superior rating were Charley Bennight, Justin Bowers, Kalista Roades and Zane Scott for string quartet. Earning a 2 Excellent rating were Roades for violin solo; Jade Boyd, Lily Chirwa, Meagan Holder and Tyler Wright for violin solos; Jazara Word for violin solo and violin duet; and Olivia Hernandez, for violin duet. Carlye Feeney and Kim Gindler direct the orchestra.
Book Battle First Place
The team from Pattonville Heights placed first at the Pattonville Area-Wide Book Battle competition. During the contest, teams of six from more than 30 area middle schools participated in a trivia-night styled event where they answer questions based on 20 books they have read. Team members were Charley Bennight, Maya Blumenthal, Jade Boyd, Lars Gindler, Rachel McCormick, Ruth McCarron, Owen Moeller and Kalista Roades. Teacher Erin Zoltanski was their coach.
Holman Middle School
Kyle Beaver was selected to the All-Suburban Honor Band. In addition, the following students earned a 1 Superior rating at the Solo and Ensemble Festival: Alliah Allen, Michael Allen, Lauren Banks, Stephanie Bartram, Akayla Baynes, Akyla Baynes, Bryan Burns, Aaron Caldwell, Cesar Estrada-Lopez, Dylan Gietl, Samantha Green, Rebecca Griffin, Kaden James, Adriana Jauregui, Jonathan Jinkerson, Collins Karanja, Jonathan Manjarrez, Cordelia Matulewic, Tepriya McMullen, T.J. O'Connell, Ava Reynolds, Sadie Shull, Sydney Suvansri and Destiny Wiser. Adam Hall and Steve White are the band directors.
Choir students Curstin Davis and Kristen Jones earned 1 Superior ratings at the Solo and Ensemble Festival. Larry Knobel directs the choir.
Pattonville High School
Harvard Pre-Law Program
Pattonville incoming junior Abby Surlet was accepted into the Harvard Pre-College Program. The two-week summer program provides high school students an introduction to college life while attending challenging classes, living on campus and enjoying excursions and activities. Students can pursue their interests in courses focusing on physics, law, writing, philosophy and a dozen other subjects. Surlet will study law while living on the Harvard campus. She received a full scholarship to the pre-college program by The Joyce Ivy Foundation.
Washington University College Prep Program
Pattonville incoming sophomore Alexander Lopez was chosen to participate in the College Prep Program at Washington University in St. Louis, a multiyear initiative that prepares high-achieving students for college. Students live and study on campus for three summers, participating in science labs, preparing college essays and studying with top university faculty.~
State, Sectional and Regional Track Honors
Twelve Pattonville students competed at the state track meet after placing in the top four in their categories at the sectional competition. Jada Moore was named state champion in the 200 meter dash and placed second in the 100 meter dash and seventh in the 400 meter dash. She set school records in each of these races and was also named All-Conference First Team and All-Metro Third Team. Dakari Streeter placed third in discus and fourth in javelin at state and set a school record in both competitions. The team of Derrick Boyce, Daymond Johnson, Tyrell Miles and Charles Shelton placed fourth in the 4x100 meter relay at state. In addition, Boyce placed third in javelin and the 100 meter hurdles and fourth in the 4x200 meter relay at sectionals and was named All-Conference First Team. Johnson also placed fourth in the 200 meter dash at sectionals and was named All-Conference First Team. Miles also placed fourth in the 4x200 meter relay at sectionals. And Shelton also placed second in the 100 meter dash and fourth in the 4x200 meter relay at sectionals and was named All-Conference First Team. At state, Lindsey Rossel placed fifth in discus. In addition, the following students qualified to compete at state: Kendall Battle, who placed second in javelin and third in the 4x400 meter relay at regionals; Brooke Jenkins, who placed third in long jump and the 4x400 meter relay at sectionals; Erykah White, who placed third in the 4x400 meter relay at sectionals; Michael Jackson, who placed fourth in triple jump at sectionals; and Diamond Richardson, who placed fourth in shot put and the 4x200 meter relay at regionals. Battle and the following other students were also named All-Conference First Team: Maryah Dominick, Da'esha Heard, Jenkins, Kameron Perkins, Karen Rosales and Micah Thompkins. Jeremiah Simmons coached the boys track team and Corey Lewis coached the girls track team with the assistance of Kyle Hall, Scott Hauser, Rob Lamb and Kara White.
Volleyball Co-Conference Champions
The boys volleyball team was named Co-Conference Champions and competed in the district championship game. In addition, Auston Bonte’ was named All-State Second Team, All-Metro Second Team and conference MVP. Bonte' and Cole Cwiklowski were named to the All-District Tournament Team and All-Conference First Team. Kevin Bowers was named to the All-District Tournament Team and All-Conference Second Team. Other members of the team are: Michael Aguirre, Landon Chan, Nathan McClain, Dilan Pinedo, William Pirrie, Will Polster, Jacob Reese and Jake Richardson. Coach Kyle Walsh was named Coach of the Year.
Girls Soccer Honors
Members of the soccer team named All-Region and All-Conference First Team were Kendall Battle, Kayla Meyer and Madison Utley. Lauren Griffin, Amanda Meyer and Rachael Vitale were named All-Conference Second Team. Katie Johnson, Bailey Schaefermeier and Gabby Zarinelli were named All-Conference Honorable Mention. Jason Sellers coached the team with the assistance of Tomi Benney.
Girls Lacrosse Honors
In lacrosse, Alexandria Taylor was named All-Conference First Team. Rene Greenwell and Bianca Johnson were named All-Conference Second Team. Leslie Azwell and Victoria Lofland were named All-Conference Honorable Mention. David DiPasquale coached the students with the assistance of Lisa Foust.
Baseball players selected as All-Conference First Team were Max Spitzmiller for first base and Josh White for third base. Jimmy Boswell was selected as an All-Conference Second Team outfielder. Jake Mathews was selected for the All-Conference Sportsmanship Award. Rob Simpson coached the team with the assistance of Victor Fink.
Boys Golf Honors
Golf team members Connor Hogan and Shawn Hulahan were named All-Conference Second Team. Scott Hutson and David Gross coached the students.
Water Polo Honors
On the water polo team, Xan Adams was named All-Conference First Team. Charles Gwinn and Brady Hanford were named All-Conference Second Team. Tom Crockett coached the team with the assistance of Marcus Christian.
